Ompal Sansanwal Indian, b. 1964

Ompal Sansanwal’s Meditations on Trees is a profound celebration of the artist’s creative journey spanning 2009 to 2024. This evocative collection honors the quiet

wisdom and enduring presence of trees—guardians of the earth and keepers of its deepest truths. This collection was first showcased by Black Cube Gallery at JIVA: A solo exhibition of Ompal Sansanwal at Bikaner House in 2024.

Through a richly layered visual language, Sansanwal invites us into a contemplative dialogue with nature, drawing inspiration from Indian mythology and spiritual traditions that revere forests as sacred spaces. Meditations on Trees is both a tribute to the natural world and a reflection on our place within it—where roots, rituals, and remembrance intertwine.
